FAQ

How Swiss System Tournaments Work?

  • After everyone plays the first game, the computer will automatically conduct a draw, and the second round will begin in a minute. So, don't rush to finish the game before everyone else. The same process will continue for the remaining games.

  • The winner plays against the winner, and the loser plays against the loser, allowing participants to compete against opponents of similar skill levels.

  • If the number of participants is odd, one participant takes a break. For this break, they receive one point (a win).

Determining the Winner:

  1. Based on the total points earned over 5 rounds (win - 1 point, draw - 0.5, loss - 0).
  2. In case of a tie in points, an additional measure is calculated: the Buchholz coefficient.

What happens if the internet freezes or disconnects?

You will need to refresh the page. In this case, Lichess will likely count the current game as a loss, and there will be no replay. You can continue from the next round. So, a stable internet connection is necessary.

We wish everyone good luck and to have a great game!
